WE CARE!
How it started
In October 2015, three adventurous photographers and friends traveled together to Morocco. Accompanied by their guide, they traveled nearly 2,000 km over nine days, staying in riads, kasbahs, nomad tents and family homes. Along the way, they were able to experience the people and culture of Morocco from the inside out, documenting the experience in images along the way. They were so moved by several causes and people they encountered, they decided to use the art they created to help make a difference for people and animals in this beautiful country.
About the artists
Paula da Silva, Italy
Paula has been an international photojournalist for many years, and she is known around the globe for her stunning photographs and the ability to portray horses at their best. Arabian and Iberian horses are her speciality, but she shoots other breeds as well. She is based in Italy and travels all over the world on assignment for magazines and breeding farms. She also holds seminars about equine photography and marketing. Her fine art can be viewed at www.fineart.pauladasilva.com.
Susan Noeller, Missouri, USA
Susan has combined her lifelong love of horses with an intense desire to create images that capture the world as she sees it. For the last several years, she has been traveling the world with colleagues, enjoying adventures of a lifetime. When not traveling, she enjoys photographing high school seniors, families and children in addition to years of shooting both national and internation horse shows, stallions, sales horse promotions, horses at liberty and fine art images.
Stacey Nedrow-Wigmore, New Jersey, USA
Stacey started taking photos as the managing editor of a national horse magazine. Her images have appeared on the covers and inside pages of several magazines, books and catalogs. While photography is not her full-time occupation, Stacey regularly works for several top equine photographers covering dressage, hunter/jumper and eventing competitions. When not riding her ex-racehorse or spending time with her two dogs, she enjoys traveling to off-the-beaten-track locations.
How you can help
Your purchase of our fine photography from this site will benefit causes such as care for hard-working donkeys, mules and horses or to assist the single father of a young child who needs lifesaving surgery and care.
Where your donations go
100% of the proceeds from the sale of our images will go toward one or more causes.
-
SPANA Chemaia: This small veterinary clinic located northeast of Marrakech provides veterinary services, training and animal welfare to the working equids in the region.
-
The Machin Foundation: Susan Machin and Charles Hantom, formerly of the UK, run Jarjeer Mules, a donkey and mule retirement home, orphanage and care center, in the foothills of the HIgh Atlas Mountains.
-
Mustafa: We met this single father through his good friend, our guide. We were so inspired by his spirit that we knew immediately we needed to do something to help. In other parts of the world, his condition would be easily treatable. But where he lives, a seven-hour drive from the major city of Marrakech, the only way to save his life now requires amputating both legs below the knees. He has already lost several fingers to his illness. Proceeds will pay for his transportation to Marrakech, surgery, aftercare and paying off his significant debts with the local pharmacy.
